Selling on Wakato

Wakato is the merchant of record. Per-sale rate: Pro 3.9% + 30¢, Business 3.4% + 30¢.

  • +0.5%: Tax collection and remittance, only on sales where we collect tax for you.
  • +1.5%: International cards: the card network's own surcharge.
  • $15: Chargebacks: the processor's dispute fee, returned if you win.
  • $5 min: The smallest sale we can process.

Is Wakato really free to start?

Yes. The Free plan costs $0 and includes one space, a website and blog, 500 contacts, 3 tables, 3 forms, a booking page, 5 GB of storage and 100 emails a month, plus your own AI assistant and an agent that answers customers on your website chat and email. You only pay for the AI work and calls you use.

How much does Wakato cost?

Wakato has three plans: Free at $0, Pro at $49 a month and Business at $99 a month. Paying yearly costs $490 for Pro and $990 for Business, two months free. On every plan, AI work, calls, texts and an agent's computer time are paid as you use them from your wallet.

What is included in the plan, and what is pay-as-you-go?

Your plan covers the platform: spaces, members, websites, contacts, storage, an email allowance, automations, and features like selling, campaigns and ads. What varies with use, such as AI model work, phone calls, texts and an agent's computer time, is paid from your wallet as you go, so a quiet month costs less.

What does an agent cost to run?

Only what it uses: AI models, calls, texts and its computer time, paid from your wallet. An agent on Wakato's cloud is billed while its computer is awake and costs nothing while it sleeps, which it does a few minutes after it stops working. Each agent can have a daily, weekly or monthly spending cap.

Can I limit what my agents spend?

Yes. Each agent can have its own daily, weekly or monthly spending cap, on top of the limits you set for the space. When an agent reaches its cap it stops spending, and you're told once in its chat with a button to raise the cap so it can carry on.

Do you charge per user?

No. Each plan includes its members (just you on Free, five per space on Pro, unlimited on Business), and AI is billed by use, never per seat.

Can I cancel or change plans at any time?

Yes. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time. An upgrade starts right away, with credit for the unused part of your current plan; a downgrade, including going back to Free, takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for.

Is there a discount for paying yearly?

Yes: paying yearly gives you two months free. Pro is $490 a year instead of $588, and Business is $990 a year instead of $1,188.

What does it cost to sell on Wakato?

Selling comes with Pro (3.9% + 30¢ per sale) and Business (3.4% + 30¢ per sale). Wakato is the merchant of record: we charge the buyer, hold the money until they get what they paid for, and handle sales tax and disputes. A few pass-through fees apply, such as international cards and chargebacks.

What is the difference between Pro and Business?
